We are hoping for lots of people to lend a hand on that morning to tidy-up the area surrounding our parish church. St Mary’s is one of the most magnificent churches in the district, and owes its being to the money donated by merchants of the medieval wool trade. These days, people come from miles around to view it, photograph it and to be within its walls for peace and reflection.
It would be great if the residents of the village, not just the local worshipers, help to tidy up the church grounds. Having well maintained surroundings to the church will be good for the reputation of the village, as visitors will take away memories and photographs showing a wonderful church sitting in cared-for grounds.
If you can spare an hour please come along. If you can bring tools such as spades, forks and hoes with you, so much the better. There will be refreshments to keep you going so no need to bring a thermos flask.
