Defibrillator Fund Raising

Good News!

We have done it!

The village has rallied round and with the help of the parish clerk applying for grants from the Awards for All (National Lottery) and The British Heart Foundation, we have all the money needed to get the defibrillator. That is £2000 raised in 8 months.

Many from the village contributed directly to the fund; The school, The Horse and Groom and its customers, the church goers. A big thank you to you all. You are incredible.

The next step is to order the defibrillator and the special heated box to keep it in. This will be installed in the ‘phone box, opposite the school, which will be refurbished prior to the installation.

BT will pay for the electricity supply for the next 7 years. This is needed to maintain the defibrillator in a working and fully charged condition.

The British Heart Foundation supplied equipment for CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training. This is a useful addition to learning how to use the defibrillator. Training sessions will be set up to show how the equipment can be used. Come along and watch or give it a go. Watch this space for more details.
