On Friday 9th November 24 people from around North Norfolk were given recognition for their outstanding achievements in their communities by the Victory Housing Community Hero Awards. These awards recognise the sacrifice of local people working in a voluntary capacity to benefit the lives of others and four Tunstead residents were honoured during the Community Hero Awards ceremony held at North Walsham High School’s splendid Atrium.

Martin Chapman was recognised for his enduring and unstinting assistance in every aspect of Worstead’s community and Barbara Wharton was recognised for her invaluable work at Arthritis Care in Wroxham, as well as her continuous support at St Marys Church, Tunstead, as churchwarden, and so many other duties. Derek Kirk and Wendy Atkins, who have served both the Tunstead Parish Council and the Village Hall Committee with fierce commitment for at least 14 years were also recognised for the continued work in serving the local community in Tunstead.
