After many years without a home football team, the Tunstead Village Hall and Recreation Ground Committee are pleased to announce that Barracks FC of the Norwich & District Sunday League, 2nd Division, have chosen to use our football pitch as their home ground.

Barracks FC have played a number of pre-season friendlies on our pitch, and liked it so much they asked us to host their home games. So it is with great pleasure that our small team of groundskeepers and the committee agreed to support them as our new home team.

Today we held a Welcome Event at which the manager of Barracks FC and the chairman of our committee formally accepted the contract to hold their home matches on our pitch for the 2020/2021 season. After the formalities, Barracks FC, who can field two teams, held a Team 1 Vs Team 2 demonstration match.

Whilst these are difficult times for everyone, we are able to hold a “COVID secure” facility for them on their bi-weekly visits to us. So if you feel you can support us and our new Home Team, and wish to join our groundskeeping team please email – [email protected].
