Place UK
The main farm in the area, based on number of people employed and size, is Place UK. Place UK are leading grower of high quality soft fruits for all the UK’s major supermarkets, including M&S, Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and the Co-Op and concentrate primarily on growing strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and rhubarb.
One of the unique facilities offered by Place UK is the opportunity for people to come and work part time at the farm to help with fruit picking during the cropping season. Accommodation is provided on-site at Church Farm, Tunstead and regularly attracts participants from countries across Europe, particularly those emerging economies where the farming way of life is still embedded into local cultures.
